All vehicle rentals are governed by a Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your obligations related to the rental. Should there be any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

Requirements for Vehicle Rental

You remain liable for damage or loss up to the excess amount, unless additional insurance applies. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms is your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ depending on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- Usage of the vehicle for any illegal activities is prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or other risky behaviors. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers to operate it is forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited. Vehicles should only be used for their intended purposes, and exceeding passenger or weight limits is not permitted. Additionally, driving beyond the agreed geographical boundaries without prior authorization is not allowed.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Dumbarton will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, stemming from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the rental within the last 12 months.
